Welcome to the Parish Kitchen
The Parish Kitchen has served a full, free meal daily to anyone who comes to the
door for 35 years. Located in downtown Covington, Kentucky, we are supported almost entirely
by free will, private donations from churches, organizations, businesses and individuals.
In addition to 3 full time and 2 part time staff, we have 300 volunteers who work
on-site and approximately 200 more who help by baking desserts, picking up donations,
etc. It is the clearest example we know of people helping people.
Five words describe what we do – dignity, respect, attention, affection and hospitality.
Thanks to the support of this community, we are able to meet those needs.
Mission of the Parish Kitchen
For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I assure
you that as long as you did this for my brother/sister, you did it for me. (Matt.
25:35, 40)
Throughout history, followers of Jesus have responded to this Gospel message in
many ways, The Parish Kitchen, under the sponsorship of Catholic Charities, Inc.,
responds to this call by serving free meals daily to hungry people.
